September is an exciting month with the first semester of the new university year beginning and parents already making plans to visit their children.
Last minute UK holiday rental provider, Snaptrip, looks at some of the UK’s most popular universities and where you should go for an exciting day trip.
Parents with children at Exeter University can take in the joys of Dartmoor and Exmoor when visiting them. If you’re an active family that loves the outdoors, visiting your child at Exeter is a perfect opportunity to get out and about and see what Devon has to offer.
Just 30 minutes away is Exmouth Beach where you can explore rock pools, go surfing or even play fetch with your pet pooch (dogs are allowed on both ends of the beach throughout the year).
Why not visit the largest open space in Devon? One of the UK’s 15 national parks, Dartmoor is a 386 square mile landscape with wide open spaces and magical forests. Go on exhilarating bike rides, try horse riding, or go back to basics and explore the landscape on foot. Stay in this cosy Exeter cottage.
Snaptrip has properties around the UK, including in Oxford, where you can stay near Blenheim Palace in a Woodstock Cottage, in York you can stay near the castle. If you’re visiting Bath, Snaptrip recommend touring the city and its surrounds, in Kent there is an adorable Canterbury based apartment which is a great base for visiting your children and exploring a new town.
If you’re looking for a staycation near your child’s university, Snaptrip has over 60,000 properties available to rent across the UK with discounts of up to 60% if you book last minute: https://www.snaptrip.com/
