Hunting for summer activities?
We’re now well into the swing of the summer holidays and you might be feeling a little at a loss of what to do with the children, why not take a trip to Devon?
You can explore a whole host of beaches, coastal paths and rockpools for a few hours and some of the larger resorts have a whole host of attractions and amenities right next to the beach for you to entertain yourself in.
If you’re planning on driving around Devon and don’t want to get sand in the car, don’t worry, you can find plenty to do with the children that doesn’t involve beaches. Why not go to one of the national parks or gardens in the region? Dartmoor has lots of greenery and interesting places to visit, plus you can go spotting wild ponies, or you can visit some of the gardens, you’ll find a lot of them are run by the National Trust, so you can be sure of a good cup of tea and summer activities aimed at children.
You could try and get them back into the swing of learning by visiting one of the many historic sites in the city, there are buildings from Georgian, Victorian and Elizabethan times, as well as older settlements. Devon is home to the remains of castles and stately homes, as well as being the home of Agatha Christie, giving you plenty of choice when trying to engage the little ones in a bit of history.
