While exploring somewhere at your own pace is always tempting, there are a number of exciting sight-seeing tours around Devon that will give you the chance to see the county from a whole new angle.

If you want to step back in time and see Tiverton from the canal, why not book onto the Horse Drawn Barge? The canal is home to one of the last Horse Drawn Barges in Britain and is run as a living heritage attraction. From your spot on the barge, you’ll get a unique view of the canal and the waterfront that you just won’t get on foot. If a water-based tour is your cup of tea, while you’re in Tiverton, check out the Devon Canoe and Rowing Boat Hire and do all your sightseeing of the area from a boat or paddleboard?
Roadford Lake which is situated in the Wolf Valley, is another great spot. Not only are there a whole host of family-friendly activities that will get you out into the wild, but you can sail around the water viewing Devon from the middle of the lake.
