How often do you find your boss standing over your desk asking you to find a venue for the next conference? If the answer to that is frequently and you’ve started getting bored of going to the same stuffy board rooms every single time, why not head to somewhere new to invigorate a bit of life into your business plans?
Devon is a perfect place for holding conferences, seminars or team building exercises, not only is it a creative hub which is sure to inspire you, but it is less than two hours away from the country’s biggest business cities, plus there are plenty of ways to access the county by road or rail.

If you’re looking for somewhere to hold a big delegation, Devon is full of hotels that can cater for you, the Park Hotel is rated as one of North Devon’s top conference venues. Not only does it have great access links, so all your delegates can get there easily, but there is ample free parking and even electric car charging facilities. And of course, there is the added benefit of being able to use the gym facilities while you’re there, just in case you have any pent up energy you need to work off before heading back to the office! Many of Devon’s top hotels are happy to host delegates. TLH Leisure Resort, is in the heart of Torquay with self-catering apartments and leisure activities plus you’re just a short walk from Torquay centre with its wealth of places to eat and drink. If you’d rather stay in site, they have great conference facilities, including meeting rooms that can hold up to 200 people. Also in Torquay is the Riviera Conference Centre, you can find it within walking distance of Torquay’s seafront so your delegates are never too far from some incredible eateries, attractions and of course, the sea! Perfect for having a calming walk afterwards! It also means that you’ll have a great choice of accommodation should any of you be staying over and access to a train station with links to mainline rail all over the country.

Alternatively, you can keep everyone on track and make sure they aren’t daydreaming about the gym during your presentations by booking into the Sandy Park Conference and Event Centre. This award-winning centre has the flexibility to host everything from small meetings to large exhibition events and is in easy reach of Exeter. If you need a bit of inspiration with where to even start, take a look at Conference Plymouth, who are happy to share their portfolio of versatile venues in the county, so you can be sure that you are matched with the best suited venue for your conference. You might not think it, but the University of Exeter is a great space for holding a conference or event. The university is used to housing large amounts of people in comfortable surroundings and you’ll have access to some incredibly technology and a range of meeting rooms, so whatever size room you need, you’ll be in good hands. Being in the city centre will also give you access to everything you could need in terms of accommodation and attractions too.

Maybe you want your event to be surrounded by some of the beautiful coastlines that Devon is famous for, in that case, head to north Devon where you’ll find Westward Living Conferences. Talk business while underwater to really add something special to the deal. Also scientists have proven that aquariums are very therapeutic, so your team should come away from any event held there reinvigorated!

Devon is not only perfect for getting down to business, it is also a great place to visit if you want to participate in team building exercises or experiences to reward your colleague’s hard work. Devon has much more activities than most to offer because of its size and how varied the landscape is, you’ll be able to find a whole host of attractions for your team, whether it is creative problem solving or getting the blood pumping with something more active.
