There’s so much going on in Devon this summer that we need to do separate posts to cover everything! Look out for future posts for more Devon Summer events.
The Contemporary Craft Festival
Bovey Tracey, 5th – 7th June
This popular Contemporary Craft Festival returns to Bovey Tracey in June, bringing together 200 makers of contemporary craft including award winning silversmiths, potters,
furniture makers, textile artists, glass makers, jewellery, 3D printing and even surfboards.
Budleigh Music Festival
10th – 18th July
A great range of concerts covering a wide range of classical musical styles and set in this beautiful East Devon seaside town with its own special atmosphere. Come and enjoy the wonderful music, walk on the beach, and stop for a bite to eat in the brilliant pubs and restaurants.
Newton Abbot Carnival Week
5th July – 12th July
This years programme is bursting with events and the weeklong carnival includes: a quiz night, duck race, tractor pull and a fun run so there’s something for everyone! See the website for more details.
Goldcoast Oceanfest
19th – 21st June
A unique combination of sports, music, stalls, and fun take place every year on the Summer Solstice weekend at Croyde against the backdrop of North Devons’ Gold Coast. Chill out, learn to surf, play beach volleyball or just listen to the great music.
Calvertstock
19th – 20th June
CalvertStock, North Devon’s family friendly music festival, is back for 2015 and is bigger and better than ever!
The festival now runs for 2 days and is all in aid of Calvert Trust Exmoor.
This year the event is bigger than ever, with two stages on Saturday (Main Stage and Acoustic Stage) and an exciting line-up of bands, as well as a bouncy castle, children’s rides, interesting stalls, and great beer and food on site.
Wall of Death Weekend
13th – 14th June
Back by popular demand, experience the spectacular Wall of Death Weekend! The Ken Fox Hell Riders will once again attend with their Wall of Death for a weekend of thrills and excitement. Come and see the Vintage Motorcycles, plus all the fun of the Vintage Fair.
Armed Forces Day 2015
Saturday 27th June
Located on Plymouth Hoe with spectacular panoramic views over Plymouth Sound, visitors will be able to see and meet the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Veterans and the Emergency Service. As well as interactive equipment, displays and military vehicles, there will be a number of Air Displays taking place throughout the afternoon.
MTV Crashes Plymouth
22nd – 23rd July
BRIT, MOBO and Ivor Novello award winner Tinie Tempah and pop heavyweight Jess Glynne have been confirmed to appear on the first night of MTV Crashes Plymouth.
Tinie Tempah, who had a number one with his debut album Disc-Overy and has won BRIT Awards for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single, will be headlining on Wednesday 22nd July.
He’ll be joined at the event of the summer by Jess Glynne, who had number ones with Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’ and Route 94’s ‘My Love’, as well as her own ‘Hold My Hand’, which held the top spot for three weeks. Her debut solo single, Right Here, reached the top 10 and her first album is expected later this year.
Tickets are still available for the second night.
La Solitaire Du Figaro
17th – 21st June
Torquay Harbour will host some of the world’s top sailors when the 46th edition of La Solitaire du Figaro arrives in Torbay this June.
Involving 40 boats, it is considered to be the world championships for single-handed yachtsmen and women, one of the main training grounds for the famous Vendee Globe race.
