Christmas is a magical time of year – especially for the kids! Find out where you can take them this Christmas to enjoy festive activities, meet Father Christmas and get all excited leading up to the holidays.
Find Father Christmas
at Castle Drogo
The youngest castle in the country is getting a very special visit from Father Christmas this year. Join Santa in his grotto in Castle Drogo’s magical gardens, but you have to find him first! Follow the trail through the garden to find him and receive a special Christmas gift. You can even make a day of it by visiting the castle and enjoying a delicious lunch or cream tea at the café. Visit Santa of the 12th and 13thDecember and the 19th and 20th December.

Christmas Carols at Dingles
Tis the season to be jolly. Join Dingles Vintage Fairground for an afternoon of Christmas carolling and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the old fairground. Entry for children is free who will get to enjoy festive Christmas songs and discover what fairgrounds used to look like back in the day. 13thDecember from 2pm with carols beginning at 4pm. Christmas at the Milky Way
Enjoy a festive day at the Milky Way, where you can decorate your own gingerbread man, make personalised Christmas cards and visit Santa and his elves in the Milky Way’s magical grotto. The little ones will love the fun rides and the indoor play area. Enjoy festive fun at the Milky Way throughout various dates in December.

Santas on the Run in Bideford
The Children’s Hospice South West is holding a Christmas fun run in Bideford. The event is for all ages and runners/walkers/joggers that enter get a full Santa suit to wear. The run is 2k along a pushchair friendly route through the streets and parks of Bideford. You can even bring the pooch! Everyone who enters gets a festive gift at the end and a medal on completion. Once you have finished the race, enjoy the Bideford lights switch on, great Christmas entertainment and a well-deserved mince pie! 6th December.

Penguins, Puffins and Père Noël
Living coasts is getting geared up for Christmas! Visit the playful penguins and find Father Christmas in his grotto. Kids can also take part in the Magical Mini Penguin Trail and if they spot all of the mini penguins, they get a special Christmas cookie. Visit Santa on selected dates from the 12th to the 23rd December. Find out more
Christmas at the Zoo
Kids can enjoy a wild Christmas at Paignton Zoo. Ride the Jungle Polar Express Train and spot all of Santa’s friends to receive a Christmas goody bag. You can visit Santa in his grotto who will be giving out very special gifts! You can visit Santa on selected dates up until the 24th December. Find out more
Santa’s Grotto at Drake Circus
Children can visit Santa in his magical grotto at Drake Circus Shopping centre. Mummy’s and Daddy’s can get their Christmas shopping in the large shopping complex, enjoy a delicious dinner in the food hall and treat the little ones to a visit at the grotto. Santa will be visiting his grotto up until the 24th December (as all the little ones know, he will be very busy on the 25th!) Find out more
Cinderella, you shall go to the ball!
Treat the kids to a magical Christmas Pantomime this festive season. The Theatre Royal in Plymouth will be showing a wonderful performance of Cinderella this year. Join Cinderella, Buttons and the Fairy Godmother for some festive fun from the 18th December to the 16th January. Find out more
Nativity at Pennywell Farm
Pennywell Farm will be holding a special Nativity in their animal barns. Father Christmas will be paying a special visit too and there will be delicious seasonal refreshments. Children can say hello to the animals in their winter homes whilst enjoying the Nativity, and under threes can go for free. 1st to the 24th December. Find out more
Hannahs Christmas Extravaganza
Enjoy music, comedy and festive cheer at Hannahs Traditional Christmas Extravaganza. Crazy Christmas jumpers and hats are especially welcomed. There will be plenty of dancing and songs, mystery and illusion, puppetry and panto! Join Hannahs for festive fun on the 18th December. Find out more
The King with Donkey’s Ears
Entertain the kids at the Exeter Phoenix this Christmas time. The wonderful performance of ‘The King with Donkey’s Ears’ is sure to delight the little ones. In this magical show, the King has a big secret; he has donkey’s ears under his hat! Only his royal barber knows his secret, but what will happen next? Have a Crealy Christmas with Kris Kringle
Enjoy fun rides, slides, and a Christmas surprise at Crealy Adventure Park. Kids can visit Santa, Rudolph and his helpers in his grotto and find out about how he gets ready for Christmas day. The little ones can also work out who has been naughty and nice and read special letters that Santa has received. They will also get a festive gift to take home. Selected dates between the 5th and 20th December. Find out more
Dogworthy’s Magic Christmas Show
Join Dogworthy, the dog magician, for a fun filled Christmas show this December! Dogworthy and his human friend, Holly, will be wowing the crowd with brilliant magic tricks and Christmas delights. This show is perfect for the littles ones and will certainly get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Make sure to watch out for the pudding eating Crocodile and enjoy carols from William Mouse! Kids can meet Dogworthy after the performance and refreshments will be provided (there will even be mulled wine for the parents)
December 20th at Ivybridge, 22nd at Tavistock and 23rd December at Yelverton.
