There are an extensive range of leisure facilities at the Highbullen Hotel, guests and residents can enjoy a complete workout or just take the time to restore, relax and refresh.

The facilities include a heated 20m indoor pool with panoramic views of Exmoor, a Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi, as well as a variety of cardiovascular machines, with treadmills, rowing machines, cross trainers and bikes. You’ll find the only Kinesis One machine in North Devon that allows you the freedom to explore an infinite range of natural movements and exercises. The gym also includes a full range of resistance machines, free weights, boxing bags and an exercise area complete with gym balls, medicine balls and stretching mats. Visitors can take advantage of personal trainers,  gym induction sessions and fitness classes as Highbullen Hotel has fully qualified instructors and welcome any ability level.

Fitness classes include a variety of sessions to keep your exercise regime varied and social whether you are just staying for a few days or live in the area and want to make friends while keeping fit. Classes range from Aquafit to Personal High Intensity Training and Spin to Core Conditioning. A new arrival to the time table is FitSteps, a unique dance and fitness programme designed by Olympic stars and professional dancers.

The pools are also available for use by hotel guests, gym members and non hotel residents. The Pool Hall at Highbullen Hotel offers guests a relaxing experience with some of the best views on the estate. The heated indoor swimming pool overlooks Exmoor, while the outdoor pool is perfect for lounging in the sun during the summer months.

Visitors are also welcome to use the seven all weather tennis courts that are onsite. There are four full sized tennis courts and three half sized courts, perfect for training or just a leisurely game to while away a few hours. For any budding Andy Murray’s out there, tennis coaching is available from our local LTA qualified coach, anyone interested in coaching, should call the hotel to book a slot.

Tennis breaks are also available, the package includes inclusive accommodation, dinner and breakfast and offers two hours of court time for each day of your stay. The racquet hire, balls and refreshments are all included and are a great way for sports fans to enjoy the beauty of North Devon while not sacrificing training.

Golf also plays a big part in the Leisure facilities at Highbullen Hotel. We are surrounded by our very own 18 hole USGA specification golf course, which is set in richly wooded parkland with breathtaking views across Dartmoor and Exmoor. Golfers of any skill can enjoy a few rounds with us and there are Golf Breaks available for anyone looking for a golfing holiday. These packages include dinner, accommodation, breakfast and two rounds of golf per person.

If you’re more interested in relaxing than working up a sweat during your stay at Highbullen, guests and visitors are also welcome to use the spa treatment facilities, sauna and jacuzzi.

Highbullen Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for an active break or somewhere to unwind, across the estate, there are a huge range of things to do including tennis, croquet, golf, fishing, shooting, swimming and plenty of walking opportunities around Exmoor or the South West Coast Path.

The local area offers many visitor attractions, pretty Devon villages, country pubs and gorgeous gardens, plus you are well placed to visit the beaches and spectacular North Devon coastline which is popular with a range of water
