Founded in 1983, Footpath Holidays is a family-owned provider of walking holidays. We are proud holders of a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Our heritage is firmly rooted in the Tamar valley and those long-treasured local connections help to give that little extra ‘something’ to your holiday experience.
Both guided and self-guided walking holidays are available.
Guided Holidays
Guided group holidays are available as centre-based tours which explore the best walks of an area, or guided group walks along a long-distance path or National Trail.
Self – Guided Holidays
Our self-guided walking tours can be ‘single centre’, exploring the best of an area with different levels of accommodation package available or ‘moving on’ following a named route with accommodation booked and luggage transferred.
Self-guided options are available in the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, the South Hams and along the South West Coast Path.
Footpath Holidays regularly organises ‘tailor-made’ tours, with extra elements built in, such as luxury accommodation, side trips and visits to historic sites.
Why not combine your walking holiday with an expert-led trip with our other business….
Britain’s Best Heritage Tours
As well as our walking holidays, two of the principals of Footpath Holidays hold the Blue Badge, Britain’s premier tour guiding qualification, and provide luxury car tours, town and city walks, countryside walks and experiences as well as ancestry tours. We have even diversified into ‘Virtual Tours’ and ‘Online Experiences’. With the expertise to provide themed tours in history, prehistory, ancestry, ecology, gardens, folklore and local gastronomy. Our vehicles are luxury SUV’s so we can take you to those less accessible ‘gems’.
As befits a company with a Green Tourism Gold Award we always provide public transport details to enable guests to reach our tour bases in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
