Cockington Court is one of Torbay's favourite destinations, combining history with present day through a thriving craft centre and a popular programme of events. The site enjoys a growing reputation as a regional centre for quality arts and crafts.
Cockington Court is a grade II listed Manor House set within an award winning country park a mile away from the seafront - a paradise for walkers, gardeners, nature lovers and families.
There is a lot to see and do at Cockington to keep the whole family entertained.
The Manor House is free of charge to enter so that it can be enjoyed by everyone. Within the house you will find The Seven Dials Café, offering delicious homemade food, so come along and indulge in a morning coffee, light lunch or afternoon tea.
Come and meet our skilled, contemporary artists and craft makers at work in our Stable Yard and Sea Change Craft Studios. Quality arts and craft items can be purchased and commissioned directly from our maker’s studios. Sense the creativity and discover the skills of our makers – see our glass blowers create amazing stunning works of art and hear the blacksmith clinking away in the forge.
Don’t leave without visiting the Kitchen and retail craft gallery where you can pick up some unique handcrafted locally made gifts. Our Kitchen Gallery has a growing reputation in the arts world as a contemporary gallery space of regional significance, having showcased work by artists of international acclaim as well as emerging local talent.
With lots of open space to explore too, Cockington court welcomes dogs and is the perfect place to bring your four legged friends. There is a walled art garden, tudor rose garden, contemporary outdoor art gallery and a popular children’s play area to explore.
Keep an eye out for our events calendar. Cockington Court offers a vibrant annual events programme for everyone to enjoy – including a Sculpture Trail, outdoor theatre performances and special themed events for Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Throughout the year we also run a programme of arts and crafts workshops for all the family.
Wandering through the picturesque lanes surrounding Cockington Court you will find yourself in the chocolate-box village of Cockington, full of thatched cottages, gift shops, tearooms, the village pub, the cricket pavilion and the church.
Weather permitting (and if booked in advance) you can even experience a horse and carriage ride around the beautiful setting of Cockington Village.
Cockington Court is the perfect setting to craft a truly memorable day and also offers a fantastic space to hire for corporate meetings, workshops and small conferences. Cockington Court is also the perfect setting for family celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries and childrens parties.
There is plenty to see and do at Cockington Court – we look forward to welcoming you soon.
