A valuable asset to the English Riviera, the Babbacombe Theatre in Torquay, is renowned for wowing audiences with their highly acclaimed family variety shows, performed throughout the year by a professional cast.
The venue, originally a concert hall, opened its doors in May 1939, and ever since then the show casts treading the Babbacombe boards have been ENTERTAINING YOU!
Now included in the TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame the venue continues to be ranked as not only the No1 theatre on the English Riviera, but as the No1 ‘Things to Do’ when visiting the region.
Inspiring audiences to continue to support local venues, is never an easy task, however creating magical memories is what everyone at the Babbacombe Theatre will strive to achieve not only this year but for years to come.

Babbacombe Theatre is situated on the beautiful Babbacombe Downs, in Babbacombe, Torquay; located only 5-10 minutes away by car from Torquay’s harbour side. It is easily accessible from other resorts on the English Riviera, Paignton and Brixham, Car parking: There is restricted on road parking however, there are numerous pay and display car parks within walking distance.
Service 12 from Brixham, Paignton or Newton Abbot. Disembark at The Pavilion. Then walk to Debenhams (2 mins) and board service 22 and ask for Babbacombe Downs, you will be dropped on Babbacombe Road, just opposite Babbacombe Downs Road and the theatre is only a 3-minute walk. You can also board service 22 from Paignton Bus Station, which will also disembark on Babbacombe Road.
