Parks & Gardens in Devon

Devon has two National Parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor, which are two of the UK's most beautiful and important areas of conservation. Not only will you find herds of wild ponies on both moors, but there is an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty to enjoy. That's not it when it comes to green space in Devon, the county is full of wonderful parks and gardens, many of these parks and gardens are managed by organisations like the National Trust and have lovely areas with play areas for children and spots for dog walking.

Devon's National Parks

Not only do Dartmoor and Exmoor provide ample countryside to explore and an abundance of adventure activities, but both are free to visit (you may have to pay a small fee for car parking). Wherever you visit on the moors, you can find visitors centres and boards full of information and advice on the best places to visit. Both Exmoor National Park and Dartmoor National Park are home to wild species of plants and animals that are extremely scarce or totally unknown anywhere else in the world – and both also have some absolutely jaw-dropping views and landscapes. Exmoor also forms the UK's first ever dark skies conservation area, which means that whether you visit by day or at night, there is always something beautiful to greet you.
