Health and Fitness breaks are a great way to relax your mind and body and where better to experience pure relaxation than in Devon! When you're getting away from it all with a Devon break it's not just a time to let your mind and body relax - it can also be about treating yourself to some TLC in the form of health and fitness and lucky for you, we have lots of spas, leisure centres and hotels that all offer the facilities you need to make sure you are properly pampered.

To some, a health and fitness break might mean some treatments at a spa where you can unwind with a massage, beauty or body treatment, aquatherapy or aromatherapy session ... or whatever makes you feel great. Visitors to Devon can take their pick from the many excellent spas dotted all over our county - and many spas are alongside fantastic accommodation. The best bit? The spa hotels are open for non-guests to enjoy too, so you don’t have to compromise on your accommodation. Many hotels are happy for groups to come in and enjoy treatments together, so are ideal for those cheeky girls’ (or guys’) weekends away and are great for special occasions, like hen dos and honeymoons.

Others may prefer to get their hearts racing and muscles pumping whilst they're away – which is a  great way to go home feeling happier and healthier and to get back to real life feeling more invigorated. If you don't want to miss a gym session - or perhaps you want to try one out for the first time - many hotels and complexes have equipment available for the use of their guests and some leisure hotels allow non-residents to book sessions for a few hours at a time.  Or perhaps a few lengths of the pool is all you need to make you feel refreshed - in which case, again, lots of Devon's accommodation providers have heated indoor pools (or outdoor, if you want to really feel refreshed!). And wherever you stay, there will be a nearby local pool that's open to the public. It isn’t just the hotels that offer this facility, you’ll find that many of Devon’s family holiday parks also have swimming pools, both indoor and out, that are open for your use. Don’t forget, you can also head to the coast and make use of the beaches, the North Devon beaches are well known for their watersports and swimming opportunities.

As well as leisure facilities at hotels, Devon is home to a whole host of activity centres and attractions that have leisure and spa facilities, such as gym equipment and various treatments to pamper yourself with. Don’t be afraid to ask your accommodation provider if you want recommendations on the best treatments and equipment available to you.

If you like to be active and outdoors, you’ll find plenty of attractions around the county offering everything from climbing to white water rafting. For those of you that prefer to be just a little more laid-back, then perhaps a nice round of golf is for you. Devon has some of the finest courses in the UK - and many places to stay nearby. Indeed, some Devon hotels and complexes have their own courses, or even private paths linking them to award-winning courses next door. These hotels often also have discounts and special prices for their guests, so make sure to speak to them before booking in a few rounds.
