The Langstone Cliff Hotel has been owned and ran by the Rogers family since it was originally purchased as a 12-bedroom house in 1946 by Stanley and Marjorie Rogers. The Hotel has been regularly expanded, refurbished and updated in the intervening 70+ years and now has 64 en-suite bedrooms and a host of facilities Stanley and Marjorie would not have dreamt of. The Hotel is situated in 19 acres of Devon woodland overlooking the sea and Exe Estuary with ample free parking for over 200 cars and or coaches. Plentiful open-air seating and sun loungers are provided on the acres of lawns and also the Victorian Verandah which enjoys spectacular views of the sea and Exe estuary. All public areas can be accessed on the level and there is a lift and four staircases available to the first-floor bedrooms. There is a fully accessible toilet available in the foyer of the Washington suite. There is good access to public transport with a scheduled bus stop opposite the hotel entrance and a main line railway station at Dawlish Warren a few hundred metres away, Dawlish Station which is approximately 1.Smiles from the hotel has a more regular service. The Hotel offers a wealth of facilities for receptions and events with rooms available to accommodate up to 400 guests in air-conditioned comfort and smaller rooms for parties as small as half a dozen. Many of the rooms have spectacular sea views. The Langstone Cliff Hotel offers a wide selection of catering from afternoon teas, through light buffets, to formal sit-down meals. The Lincoln Restaurant is open every day for Breakfast from 7.30am till 10.00am and Dinner from 6.45pm till 9.00pm and also on Sundays for our popular carvery Sunday Lunch. The Lincoln restaurant offers a new menu every day which is predominantly English in style but with a smattering of continental dishes added. We offer a choice of 4 Starters, 4 main courses plus vegetarian and cold buffet options with a selection of seasonal items, 4 sweets plus Ice creams followed by cheese and coffee or tea if you prefer. There are two bars in the hotel offering a wide range of draught beers, lagers, and ciders, a selection of wine and a wide range of spirits, the bars can also offer a comprehensive snack and light lunch menu from 1 1.30am till 9.00pm each day. The Hotel is open all year round and offers a wide variety of entertainment with children's entertainers most evenings during the summer holidays. Several themed weekends for Valentines, Easter and our excellent Langstone Specials and Loyalty weekends with cabaret evenings. The Langstone Cliff Hotel is also well known for its variety of Dance holidays utilising the magnificent Washington Ballroom.
From Exeter and the North
1. Leave the M5 at Junction 30
2. Follow the signs for Dawlish (A379) 2nd exit on the Sandygate Roundabout
3. Proceed along a short length of dual camageway for approximately half a mile, bear left following the signs for Dawlish.
4. Filter on to a second dual carriageway for approximately a quarter mile to Countess Wear Roundabout. Take the 2nd exit signposted Dawlish (A379)
5. Proceed along the road (over the swing bridge) for about 500 metres to Matford Roundabout, take the first exit signposted Dawlish (A379)
6. Continue along the Exminster Bypass approx 2 miles (Sannerville Way) to the roundabout take the second exit and proceed towards Kenton. Approximately 4 miles.
7. Continue through Kenton to the village of Starcross.
8. Once through Starcross proceed along beside the railway to a sharp right hand bend with Cockwood Harbour on your left as you turn out of the bend.
9. Take the road 20 metres beyond the bend adjacent to the harbour and proceed to Dawlish Warren, pass the Anchor Inn.
10. Approximately 1 mile to Dawlish Warren proceed through the village pass the turning to the beach on the left.
11. Continue up the hill, pass the Mount Pleasant Inn on your left. The Hotel entrance is approximately 50 metres on the left, look out for a large Blue Sign.
From Plymouth and the South West
1. From Plymouth take the A38 Expressway towards Exeter.
2, At Haldon Hill just passed the Happy Eater Restaurant take the turning left signposted to Dunchideock and Exeter Racecourse.
3. Turn right at the junction and proceed under the ASS towards the A380.
4. Cross the Mini Roundabout and proceed for approximately half a mile to the junction with the A380.
5. Cross the A380 and follow the road adjacent to the Caf6
6. Continue down the lane for approximately 2 miles to the B3381. Continue along the road to the left where the road connects to the B3381.
7. Follow the road down the hill being careful of oncoming traffic and tight bends for approximately 4 miles.
8. At the T Junction with New Road, opposite the golf course, take a right turn and proceed to the main A379 at Cockwood Harbour.
9. At the Junction with the main A379 at Cockwood you will see a road opposite you running along the back of the Harbour. Take this road to Dawlish Warren.
10. Approximately 1 mile to Dawlish Warren proceed through the village pass the turning to the beach on the left.
11. Continue up the hill pass the Mount Pleasant inn on your left. The Hotel entrance is approximately 50 metres on the left look out for a large Blue Sign.
From Teignmouth and Newton Abbot
1. Follow the A379 from Teignmouth through Dawlish town centre towards Exeter.
2. Proceed along Exeter Road out of Dawlish for approximately half a mile. Just passed the second zebra crossing there is a small group of shops and an Esso Garage on the right.
3. Just beyond the garage on the right is a road signposted Dawlish Warren.
4. Follow this road for approximately three-quarters of a mile, the Hotel is on the right hand skJe approximately 100 metres after the houses appear on the left.
Book to Dawlish. The station is only two miles from the hotel, where there is a taxi rank. Dawlish Warren station is unmanned and is located around 400 metres from the Langstone Cliff Hotel. It is possible to walk to the hotel. There are 2 platforms at Dawlish Warren station the Seaward side receives trains from London and the north, the inland platform receives trains from Plymouth and the south. To get to the Langstone Cliff Hotel walk off the platform and proceed down the slope towards the road. From London and the north you will need to proceed under the rail bridge turning away from the sea.
