Sidmouth Airshow has been a part of the town’s social calendar since the 1960s and continues to wow audiences today, with the next show scheduled for 26th August 2022 – the perfect way to begin the bank holiday weekend.

Kicking off at 5.15pm on Friday 26th August,  this year’s show will include a host of aerobatic displays, including Team Raven’s debut appearance at the event. Team Raven will start the proceedings, before RAF Spitfires take to the skies to commemorate the Battle of Britain in a memorial flight. This will be followed by Rich Goodwin in his Pitts Biplane and then, closing the show, the Red Arrows will perform.

As always, the airshow is combined with the Regatta which also takes place over the same weekend. The event starts on the Friday between 3 and 5pm, with the airshow taking place immediately after. Following the air show, the Regatta will begin again the following day from 10.30 am and will finally end with races on the Sunday at noon.

It is expected around 25,000 visitors will attend the airshow alone– so here is what you need to know to prepare for the big day.

The airshow will kick off at around 5.15pm off the Esplanade, in the centre of Sidmouth, as the Regatta will begin at 3pm, please be aware that it may be busy in the centre of town, so plan your journey accordingly.

There will be extra parking available, so make sure to look out for the signposts on the day and all the usual pay and display carparks will be operational.

There will be volunteers around the town who will be on hand to help and who will also be stationed across the seafront, Connaught Gardens and Salcombe and Peak Hills collecting donations – donations can be made in cash and via contactless.

There will be a water safety zone in enforcement during the air show, so please do not attempt to access Sidmouth from the water.

It is expected that the event will end around 9pm on Friday night.
