Sidmouth Air Show, featuring the Red Arrows, returned to Sidmouth by popular demand in 2015, having been part of Sidmouth’s calendar of events from the 1960s through to the early 2000s.
As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring that town events enjoy community involvement and support, Sidmouth Town Council conducted a survey to understand residents’ views on the Air Show. Later in the year there will also be a visitor survey and a consultation with local businesses to see what all groups think about one of the Town’s biggest events together with data collected on the environment and traffic levels. Councillors hope this will help them understand the impact and planning for future events.
The results of the first survey for residents which was carried out over a two week period, were reported to the Town Council at its meeting held last Monday 4 July. 90.97% of people responding said ‘Yes’ to the Question: Do you feel that Sidmouth Air Show brings an overall positive benefit to the people and community in Sidmouth?
