When it comes to unforgettable trips to the seaside, there are fewer places better than Sidmouth and what better time of year to visit than Easter when everyone is gearing up for the busy summer months?

There are a host of activities and attractions to fill your days when in Sidmouth this Easter, and here are a couple of our favourite suggestions to get your itineraries started.

Visit the beach
Sidmouth Town Beach and Jacob’s Ladder Beach are both great places to spend a few hours, especially when the sun is shining. Both beaches offer the chance for fun and games, like building sandcastles in the sandier areas, paddling in the sea and the pebbled areas are great for doing a spot of rockpooling.

Immerse yourself in Regency history
Now that the second series of Bridgerton is out in the world, we’re all craving the pretty buildings and parties of the Regency era and Sidmouth is the perfect place for that. There are a host of Regency era buildings to discover, plus there are museums and the Blue Plaque Trail to give you even more of an insight into the region’s history.

Make some new friends
With the Donkey Sanctuary being free to visit, there is no excuse not to go and introduce yourself to all the rescue donkeys and with the abundance of farm and animal attractions in nearby towns and villages, you can also go and meet some more exotic creatures too! Even if you don’t want to travel too far out of Sidmouth, you can still spot birds and other wildlife by taking a stroll through the Byes.

Enjoy a picnic in the park
Sidmouth has some beautiful parks and gardens so if the weather is nice, grab some snacks and make yourself comfortable in the sunshine, where you can soak up the beautiful displays created by Sidmouth in Bloom.

Challenge yourself
The water might not be warm but that doesn’t mean you can’t challenge yourself to a couple of paddleboarding or surfing sessions on the coast. If you’re up for a challenge, this is one way to get the heart pounding!

Explore the South West Coast Path
One of the best ways to experience the beauty of the Jurassic Coast is to explore the South West Coast Path which has trails and paths all over the UNESCO World Heritage site and many of them start and end in Sidmouth.
