Sidmouth Folk Festival will be returning to the town for 2021, but in a smaller format than usual, with a bigger celebration planned for 2022.
Organisers of the famous festival has said that they want to put on a week of music, dance and entertainment this summer, known as a A Celebration of Sidmouth Folk Festival, running between 30th July until 6th August.

The event is being billed as an authentic taste of the traditional event, while running in line with existing Covid-19 guidance.

Festival director, John Braithwaite, told reporters: “We are looking forward to this special celebration, as we thank everyone who helped the festival survive last year’s cancellation and to secure its future… All relevant precautions and health and safety measures will be taken to ensure people’s comfort and to maximise their enjoyment.”

The line-up for this year’s celebration include headline performances by Show of Hands, the Eliza Carthy Trio and Talisk. The performances will take place at Blackmore Gardens to take into account the current guidelines for open air events. The gardens will also have free daytime family entertainment, including dance music, street theatre, food and drink stalls and more.

There will also be live streamed events and workshops, with further details to be announced nearer the time. For more information, visit the Folk Festival’s website. https://sidmouthfolkfestival.co.uk/
