Sidmouth’s annual Christmas Lights switch on returns this year on 20 November. Once again, Sidmouth Town Council is providing the festive display along the streets. The grand switch on this year will be performed by Di Fuller of Sid Valley Help, winner of the Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards for Community.

To help get you in the Christmas mood, local duo Vine and Dandy will be providing music and entertainment from 4.30pm. The draw for the ‘Golden Ticket’ will take place at 5.15pm and is a chance for local Primary School children, who will have received a ticket at school, to win a huge £100 toy voucher generously donated by Gliddon’s Toy Shop of Church Street.

The Golden Ticket draw will be followed by the Christmas Light switch on at 5.30pm. The lighting is again supplied by Torbay Display and is billed as a contrast to the 2020 scheme. The Chair of Sidmouth Town Council, Councillor Ian Barlow “This year, it is entirely fitting that Di Fuller is switching the Christmas Lights on. She and Sid Valley Help have been invaluable throughout the most difficult of times and continues to work tirelessly for our community.”

The Sidmouth Christmas light display is funded by Sidmouth Town Council, kindly supported by Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce. The 20 November is shaping up to be a sparkling tonic and start to the Christmas festivities in Sidmouth.
