Sidmouth Museum is progressive and outward looking, it aims to attract the widest possible audience through its collections and bring enjoyment to all.
There are many displays in galleries and rooms over two floors of our quaint Regency building next to the Parish Church. Although disabled access is restricted to the ground floor there is much to enjoy on that level with digital access to displays on the 1st floor. The Museum attracts return visitors as a large proportion of the displays change annually.
Sidmouth’s coastline is part of the Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Museum has a large Geology collection of local fossils, giant reptile footprints, mammoth and other relics, mostly collected from the Jurassic coastline dating from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
Other collections featured in displays include Archology, Egyptology, Lace and Social History, for more details visit our website www.sidmouthmuseum.co.uk
We look forward to welcoming you to Sidmouth Museum.
