Thorn Park Campsite

About

For a family friendly, informal camping experience, look no further than Thorn Park on the outskirts of Sidmouth. Whether you want to sleep under canvas or bring your own caravan or motor home, this site is the perfect spot for an east Devon based camping break.

Set in the pretty village of Salcombe Regis, Thorn Park is one of Sidmouth’s most popular alternative campsites. Located along a quiet country lane, promising tranquil and peaceful place to stay and within walking distance of the ever popular Donkey Sanctuary, it has unrivalled views of the East Devon countryside and allows easy access to the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the South West Coast Path, the incredible Jurassic Coast and Sidmouth town centre. If you’re looking for a quiet site that is close to all the tourist attractions that east Devon has to offer, Thorn Park is the one for you.

Thorn Park benefits from an hourly bus service to and from Salcombe Hill in Sidmouth and is within walking distance to the secluded beach at Salcombe Regis. The site has fully serviced showers and electric hook up points and is the preferred site for those visiting for the many music and entertainment events held in Sidmouth including the Folk Festival and the Fringe Festival. If you’re in town for an event, the site is one of the featured stops for the shuttle buses that operate for the duration and food operators also service the site, with curry, pizza and other delicious treats. For those of you who are interested in indulging in a few rounds of golf during your stay, the site is adjacent to Thorn Park Golf Centre where you’ll find a golf range and Pitch and Putt open to visitors and members.

Don’t have your own tent or caravan but still want to stay? Why not hire a beautiful bell tent from Devon Belles who are also based onsite? These bell tents are delivered and erected by helpful staff, allowing you to arrive and start your East Devon holiday without worrying about finding tent pegs or falling out over which poles go where! They also come with airbeds, making them the perfect compromise for those that aren’t that sold on camping!

So if you’re looking for a dog friendly site, close to local amenities and attractions in a quiet and tranquil area of east Devon, get in touch with us at Thorn Park.

Road Directions

The main entrance to the camp field for cars and small campervans is on the right 300m beyond the Golf Centre entrance (just past the entrance to Salcombe Regis Campsite).

Caravans and long campervans should enter the site only from the east via 'old' Trow road (avoiding a very steep winding section) where there is wider access into the camping field
