The Dukes Inn walls form part of the 13th Century St Peter’s Chapel, which belonged to Otteron Priory and, the awarchway from the original Chapel door can be seen at the inn separating the dining room and conservatory. The Sid Valley that surrounds the town really highlights how breath-taking Devon’s rural scenery is, at its heart you’ll find The Byes, a National Trust owned park that follows the River Sid down to the sea, it’s the perfect spot for ball games, sunbathing, quiet reflection or getting back to nature with the family. It’s views like this that make us continue to strive to conserve the great Devon countryside, we are currently the owners of a Silver Green Tourism Award and aim to become even more eco-friendly in the coming years.
