White & Son Shoes is an independent, family run shoe shop located in the heart of beautiful Sidmouth.  Offering a wide range of the world’s leading footwear brands for adults with exceptional service and providing super value for money.

Steve and Sarah Ryrie, with their two teenage children, took over the business in May 2021 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic!  Steve has a long career in the footwear industry behind him having worked for Lilywhites, Rohan and ECCO; taking over White & Son Shoes fulfils a lifelong ambition to have his own footwear store.  Before starting their family, Sarah was formerly the Marketing Manager for ECCO in the UK; she recently retrained and is now a secondary school English teacher. The Ryrie family currently live in Somerset and hope to relocate to the Sidmouth area once their children complete their secondary education. 

In the meantime there a is a team of exceptional staff at White & Son, which is lead by the Manager, Anne,  who has been with the business for almost 10 years. White & Son staff pride themselves on the high level of service and aim to ensure that every customer leaves walking on air having found their perfect footwear. 

The brands currently stocked include:  Skechers, Josef Seibel, Rieker, Ara, DB Shoes, ECCO, Anatomic and Fit Flop (others are available) and White & Son carries a range of footwear accessories (laces, insoles, shoe care etc). 

Steve and Sarah believe strongly in the strength of community and are keen to be part of the Sidmouth family.  They hope to support town events, having already made steps to support Sidmouth Sea Festival and look forward to developing relationships with other retailers and local organisations.  In addition they are keen to broaden the footwear offering available in the town to encompass more environmentally sustainable options.
