A little gem by the sea.
Located in Church Street in the delightful Regency Town of Sidmouth is the Dairy Shop, a café and delicatessen that is also the home of Sidmouth Gin, the town’s award winning gin distillery.
Open Monday- Saturday, 9am – 5.30pm, the shop is a haven for anyone wanting to stop for a little refreshment, the café offers hot and cold drinks as well as a variety of locally sourced and delicious home made foods. Whether you need a quick pick me up or want somewhere to meet with your friends for a coffee and a catch up, a visit to the Dairy Shop is always a good idea!
The menu features locally sourced, fresh food and drink, perfect whatever the weather. From soup of the day to your every day favourites, including salads, paninis, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cakes and ice cream. Whatever the weather and whatever the season, you’ll never regret stopping off at the Dairy Shop! The whole team aim to provide excellent food and drink, with as much of it coming from the south west as possible and pride themselves on creating a friendly, calm and caring atmosphere for all customers, whether they are regulars or visiting for the holidays.
In addition to serving delicious food and drink, the Dairy Shop and Café is a community hub with music lessons, art sessions and a whole host more taking place throughout the year. At Christmas the team often open up to hand out coffee and mince pies to anyone who fancies seeing a friendly face and during school time, there is often a uniform bank found at the shop for anyone who needs new school clothes. Live music and meetings often take place there, providing a fun and friendly space to really enjoy the unique talents of Sidmouth’s artistic community.
Regular gin events are also held at the shop, which is home to Sidmouth Gin, the town’s distillery. Various gin varieties can be purchased from the shop and each hand crafted batch features botanicals sourced fresh from Sidmouth town beach and the surrounding Sid Valley area, making every sip the true taste of Sidmouth. Currently the distillery has two award winning gins and also produces locally made vodka and rum, with flavours available both online and in store. The gin school sessions are always popular and gives gin lovers the chance to come and make their very own bespoke gins to take home with them. The sessions take place at the Dairy Shop and anyone interested is asked to inquire at the counter. Make sure to keep an eye on the website and social media channels to find out more about the next sessions and the latest news regarding events at the shop.
The Dairy Shop is owned and managed by Kirsty, John and family who live in the town and have run the business since 2017. Since taking on the store, they have created a real hub for locals and visitors alike.
