Find out more about the latest travel advice for England: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers
You must wear a face covering when you travel by public transport, including at our stations and on our trains in England. We strongly recommend that you use one wherever you travel with GWR. Some people may not be able to wear a face covering safely. For example, children under 11, people with breathing difficulties, or those whose disabilities make it difficult for them to wear one.
Try to not to travel when it’s busy. Our quieter times are normally between 10.00 – 15.00, and after 19.00. To help with social distancing, we’ve reduced the number of spaces available on our trains. Book your ticket in advance and reserve a space on your preferred train if possible – otherwise, we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to board. Once a train reaches its seating capacity, we will remove it from our booking systems.
Great Western Railway (GWR) provides high speed, commuter, regional and branch line train services. We help over 100 million passengers reach their destinations every year - across South Wales, the West Country, the Cotswolds, and large parts of Southern England.
We’re currently seeing the biggest investment in the network since Brunel so we can offer more trains, more seats, and shorter, more frequent journeys and continue the network’s heritage of helping connect more businesses to new and prosperous markets. Through a series of initiatives we aim to be a good neighbour to the communities we serve and are committed to making a positive social impact in those regions. Learn how we're Building a Greater West at GWR.com. GWR is a FirstGroup company.
Great Western Railway operates journeys to Devon from over 270 destinations by train. Direct, high-speed services from Paddington, operated by Great Western Railway, stop at Tiverton, Exeter St. Davids, Newton Abbot, Totnes and Plymouth.
Travel First Class and take advantage of free Wi-Fi, plug sockets and complimentary refreshments, allowing you to make the most of your travel time.
If you are a conference organiser or attendee, you can get discounted rail tickets through GWR, with special conference fares available from most stations on the network. See www.gwr.com/conferences for more information and to book.
