Yapham Cottages is comprised of three beautifully converted stone-built barns situated on the slopes of an ancient wooded valley within seven acres of well-tended grounds, along a private drive.
They are winners of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence every year since 2013 among other numerous other accolades. Yapham Cottages offers luxury accommodation at affordable prices, each cottage is given a great deal of care and attention to ensure our guests enjoy their holiday with us.
Be welcomed to this beautiful part of Devon with a traditional Devon Cream tea of freshly made scones, local jams and clotted cream. Guests can walk the short distance to Brownsham and pick up the South West Coast Path, a renowned coastal footpath in the North Devon A.O.N.B. With stunning landscapes, remarkable places to visit and an enormous range of things to do, Yapham Cottages make the ideal location for a visit to North Devon and Cornwall. The cottages stand on the side of a little valley, our closest neighbour is on the opposite side, so it is very quiet and there is little light pollution, making this the perfect place to just relax, unwind and recharge the batteries. We are well placed to explore the many attractions and restaurants in the surrounding area, so do make the most of your stay here in Devon.
Shipload Cottage is our largest cottage and sleeps up to four people in double and twin bedrooms. It has a split-level living area with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area on one level and a living room on another. Add to this the private patio accessible from the kitchen, you have the perfect place for some summer dining! WiFi is also available for you to enjoy during your stay. Barley and Windbury are one-bedroom cottages.
The Barley Cottage can sleep two people in its double bedroom. This cottage has a conservatory offering a great view of our orchard and bird feeders. The living room boasts a flat screen TV and the bathroom and kitchen are both well equipped.
Windbury Cottage can sleep up to four people, with two in the double bedroom and a further two on a sofa bed in the lounge. It has a fitted kitchen, shower and WC, flat screen TV and use of WiFi and central heating throughout. It is well-equipped with cutlery and kitchen equipment giving you everything you need for your self-catering holiday.
All three cottages have free parking and Wi-Fi internet. Windbury and Barley Cottages are both dog friendly cottages. There are a number of standard features included in every stay with us, from the Devon Cream Tea on your arrival to give you a real taste of Devon. Guests have the use of a shared freezer in the utility room, it also has a washing machine and tumble dryer available for use, bicycles can be stored at the rack in the entrance to the Nissan Hut and we have a BBQ and sun loungers which can be used.
All the cottages come with essential supplies including a selection of DVDs, books, maps, leaflets and board games. We provide toiletries, as well as a travel hairdryer and an emergency sewing kit. There is a fully stocked first aid kit provided in the main bathroom in each cottage. Towels and bedding are provided before each arrival, a tea towel is also provided in the kitchen and we can add a folding bed on request.
Our manager, Martin, is onsite most of the time and keeps up with the site maintenance. He is on hand for guests that need him and will show you around your cottage, don’t be afraid to ask him advice on the best places to go during your stay!

From the M5 motorway, take junction 27 onto the A361 towards Barnstaple.
On the outskirts of Barnstaple, this becomes the A39 Barnstaple to Bude road. Take the A39 towards Bude until you get to Clovelly Cross roundabout. This is about 20 miles.
Go straight ahead at the roundabout and then take the next turning right off the A39 sign posted Hartland. This is the B3248. Go down here for just over one mile and take the next turning on the right signposted Hartland Lighthouse/Point. Passing Hescott Farm on your right and down the hill you will come to a junction with a signpost called Yapham Cross. This is only about half a mile from the B3248. Our driveway is the right turn at this junction, signed as Yapham Farm & Cottages.
Bus Service 319 links Hartland to Bideford and Barnstaple. This is an infrequent service, so your own vehicle is advised.
