Situated in the heart of Appledore in North Devon, Torridge House is a comfortable Georgian style Bed and Breakfast offering a quiet, peaceful place to stay with a high quality breakfast every morning.
Located just a short distance from the quay, Torridge House is the perfect home from home, ideal for exploring Appledore and surrounding areas, including the beautiful North Devon coast. Appledore is within walking distance of one of the region’s best sandy beaches at Westward Ho! and the fascinating Northam Burrows, and guests can easily access the South West Coast Path and the many attractions that Devon has to offer.
Torridge House is both dog and child friendly, with a range of comfortable rooms to choose from, including The Blue Room with its four poster bed, the Bird Room and the Twin Room, all of which have ensuite facilities. Each room is individually decorated, with the Bird Room featuring antique furniture and the others having a more modern and stylish feel. Each room is designed to make sure you feel at home and have every comfort you need for a pleasant stay in North Devon.
Guests also have access to our beautiful communal gardens, where you are welcome to leave your bikes, the guest lounge and the conservatory where our popular breakfasts are served in the mornings. The breakfasts are created using only the best quality local ingredients, including home made bread and preserves and fresh eggs from our own free range chickens.
The large garden is perfect for letting the children (or the dogs) roam around and is full of local wildlife, making it a tranquil spot for bird watchers or those who want a break from everyday life. In the colder months, the guest lounge’s wood stove is lit creating a cosy place to curl up on a sofa with a book or one of the DVDs available for guest’s use.
