You are here > Accommodation > Meadowland Farm B&B, Dolton
A farmhouse B&B with high-quality en-suite rooms and a Shepherd’s Hut with modern facilities looking out over our fields to the river Torridge.
Meadowland Farm located in the beautiful North Devon valley of the river Torridge is close to the villages of Dolton, Iddesleigh, Merton and Meeth. Ideally placed for walkers and cyclists on the Tarka Trail, Stafford Moor Fishery or those just wanting a peaceful break, we are centrally located between the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks whilst the rugged coastline and sandy beaches of North and West Devon are easily accessible. For garden and wildlife enthusiasts, the RHS Garden Rosemoor is a 10-minute drive and we have three Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserves within a 3-mile radius. Meadowland Farm is just a short drive from several local pubs serving excellent food whilst the market towns of Great Torrington, Winkleigh and Hatherleigh are also nearby.
Simon and Lucie moved to Meadowland Farm in 2010 and have since redeveloped the house and restored the land. The B&B has spacious and high quality en-suite accommodation with English breakfast made from home produced or locally sourced food whilst the farm itself is now a smallholding running down to the banks of the river Torridge where our guests are welcome to wander at their leisure. In 2018 we opened "The Lookout" shepherd's hut - a purpose-built timber cabin fitted out with all the facilities modern glampers demand! We have a small flock of Exmoor Horn sheep as well as Berkshire pigs and free-roaming hens and ducks that supply us with tasty fresh eggs each day. Guests are enthusiastically greeted by our three dogs Jaffa, Polly and Meg (you may even be granted an audience with Tiddles the cat) and the farm is visited by a rich variety of wildlife including red deer, buzzards and kingfishers while otters might be seen in the nearby Halsdon nature reserve.
