Glamping and Alternative Accommodation in North Devon

Get away from it all—without sacrificing the comforts of a luxury stay with these galmping sites and alternative accommodation providers.

What is "glamping?"

Glamping, or ‘Glamourous Camping’ is perfect for those of you who want all the rustic charm of a camping holiday without having to give up on the home comforts. It really is the best of both worlds. Camping is a quintessential British holiday tradition and there really is something special about sleeping under canvas and enjoying being at one with nature, but we know it isn’t for everyone. That’s why glamping is the perfect compromise!

With all the fun of camping with the comforts of home, this is the ideal solution for those of you trying to please everyone. You can have the experience of getting back to nature while still sleeping on actual beds and using real showers. What’s more, north Devon is full of amazing sites dedicated to glamping with a whole host of interesting accommodation options. Glamping accommodation covers everything from yurts to safari tents to tree houses to wooden lodges so you can have a holiday that is as truly unique as you are!

Never a dull moment

As glamping is essentially luxury camping, you’ll find that many of the glamping companies in the region offer activities themed around getting back to nature and being out in the wild. These include guided foraging trips, communal meals around a campfire and for those sites that are based on farms or small holdings, the option to collect your own eggs for breakfast.

When it comes to staying in North Devon, you don't have to stick with the traditional accommodation options, as well as glamping, there are wellness retreats, converted barns, tree houses and just about everything else you can think of!

These sites can be found all over north Devon, so whether you want to escape into the countryside or wake up to a sea breeze, you will find a glamping site to suit you. Plus with the wide range of options when it comes to your accommodation, you’ll be sure to find something perfect for your taste and budget.

Award winning accommodation

Many of the glamping sites in north Devon have won awards, both nationally and regionally and the idea as a whole is regularly celebrated at tourism awards. If you enjoy glamping, you might also be interested in staying at one of north Devon’s many holiday parks or, if you really want to get back to nature, you could always take a look at the campsites in the region – they may not have the kingsized beds that come with a glamping holiday, but they do have a range of clean, modern facilities and are perfect for creating plenty of memories.

One of the more well known glamping sites in North Devon is Longlands, near Combe Martin where you’ll find safari lodges beside a lake with views out across the ocean. The safari lodges are all beautifully furnished with everything from stoves, king sized beds and Chesterfield sofas! If that isn’t luxury, we don’t know what is!

So, if you’ve always liked the idea of camping, but know deep down that it isn’t really for you, consider glamping for your next holiday, you never know, it might make you fall in love with this British family holiday tradition! Or amaze your friends with your holiday snaps by choosing an accommodation provider that is an individual as you are!

Our selection of idyllic, fairy-tale Glamping and alternative accommodation sites will add a touch of magic to your next visit to North Devon.
