Cheglinch Farm Glamping & Wild Camping

About

Cheglinch Farm Glamping offers luxury farmstay glamping near the North Devon Coast.  It provides the perfect opportunity to get back to nature in a picturesque rural location on a working dairy farm, yet is only a few minutes away from the family friendly sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton.

There are just three beautiful Lotus Belle bell tents onsite, ensuring a sense of exclusivity.  Each tent is furnished with proper beds (a double and 2 singles) made up ready for your arrival.  Cosy, thick, soft duvets, fluffy blankets, hot water bottles, tea-lights and fairy lights all add to the homely feel.  For a family of 5 there is ample room to bring your own single blow up mattress, or a travel cot can be provided for a little one.  The site is also perfect for whole site bookings by family groups, enabling children to play freely whilst the adults sit back and relax.

Each tent comes with its own private toilet, shower room and fully equipped outdoor kitchen, including modern family gas barbecue.  Private fire pits and outdoor wood-burning stoves are great for those wishing to enjoy the true outdoor cooking experience or for just relaxing and toasting marshmallows whilst watching the sun go down.

The tents are off grid allowing you a technology detox if desired.  However, a shared fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and electric points are available within the communal playbarn for those who just can’t quite manage without their home comforts.

Children love running freely around the large field, hiding in the longer areas of grass and reeds and exploring the natural surroundings, including the small stream than transverses the site.  The mud kitchen, within the outdoor play area, is a big hit with little ones, whilst the outdoor table tennis is fun for young and old alike.  A selection of outdoor games are available and there is plenty of room for ball games to be played by all the family.

The indoor communal play barn offers shelter for those not so kind weather days, providing board games, books, children’s football and snooker tables, as well as sofas, dining tables and chairs.  Lockable cupboards are also available for keeping valuables safe.

For animal lovers there are chickens, guinea-pigs and calves onsite, as well as the occasional visiting wild pheasants and ducks. Barn Owls and Yellow Wagtails have also been sighted by a lucky few, and our herd of dairy cows can often be spotted grazing nearby.  Tractor mad individuals will also not be disappointed as there are plenty of opportunities for tractor spotting within the hamlet!

Open from May to end of September Cheglinch Farm Glamping offers midweek, weekend and week-long breaks.

For those looking for a true camping experience we offer wild camping at our separate sister site Cheglinch Camping, which just pops up during the school Summer holidays.  It is perfect for those looking for a back to basics experience.  Unmarked pitches within a huge field on the outskirts of the farm, fabulous views, mains cold water, toilet and rubbish facilities are provided but the rest is up to you!  True camping at its best!  Camp fires are also possible in our fire-pits which are available to hire.  For those who don’t fancy pitching their own tent there are also 2 large pre-pitched unfurnished Lotus Belle tents, each sleeping 6, available to hire.

Cheglinch is the perfect base from which to explore North Devon.  Fabulous beaches are nearby.  Ilfracombe Harbour, Lynton, Lynmouth and Exmoor are all within easy reach.  There are countless outdoor activities just a short drive away and multiple theme parks on the doorstep.  There are certainly plenty of activities available to keep the whole family entertained!
