Brightlycott Barton in Barnstaple is a 4 acre south facing caravan and camping park with excellent panoramic views and multiple awards.
The site consists of 20 level pitches with electric hook-ups (16amp) plus an area for tents and 23 touring pitches. It is the ideal location for a family holiday and there are dog friendly areas on the site too, so no one has to miss out on the holiday.
The nearest town is Barnstaple, which is 2 miles from the campsite. Barnstaple is a charming historic town, with a market, leisure centre and more. You’ll find high street and independent shops and restaurants to take your fancy and for those of you that are into sports, Tarka Tennis is a popular choice. If you are in North Devon for exploring, the Tarka Cycle Way can be joined at Barnstaple and is highly recommended. The South West Coastal Path is also accessible in this area and there are several beautiful beaches nearby, the nearest is around seven miles from the campsite. If you’re here to relax, we are just three miles from a 9-18 hole golf course and 1 mile from a fly fishing and trout farm, why not catch your dinner and then cook it on a BBQ back at the site?
The Exmoor National Park is also within easy reach of the site and has some gorgeous landscapes and stunning scenery, plus you’ll be able to encounter some of the wildlife that this area is famous for. If you’d like to try some fabulous local produce, Barnstaple and South Molton Pannier Markets are great sources of local produce, and there are some fabulous independent shops in the area offering amazing foods and gifts for you to enjoy while you’re visiting. We’re also happy to recommend places to buy food and eat during your stay, just speak to one of the team, either when you make your booking or on arrival and we’ll be happy to help you.
It is easy to find the campsite, from the town centre of Barnstaple, follow the signs A39 to Combe Martin/Lynton, then turn right at the sign for Brightlycott and Roborough where the farm will be on your left. If you’re coming to us from Lynton, take the A39 towards Barnstaple until you reach the sign for Brightlycott, turn left and then left again.
Barnstaple railway station is about 3 miles from the site, there is a regular bus service from the station to the North Devon District Hospital. From here, it is a mile to Robourgh Road to reach the campsite.
You don’t have to venture off site to keep yourselves entertained, there is an indoor games room available for guests to use and a swing frame for younger children to play on when on the site.
There are a number of facilities included with your booking, the new ablution block contains six showers, a room with facilities for the disabled, plus laundry and wash up facilities. There is a fridge/freezer and a washing machine that are free to use and a coin operated tumble dryer. Dogs are allowed on the site, but must be well-behaved, we have a maximum of two dogs per pitch, please speak to a member of the team when you make your booking. We are an ideal site for dog-owners with all the greenery and vast parkland nearby, perfect for letting your four-legged friends let off some steam.
Our campsite has been recognised for a number of awards, including a Silver Award with the Green Tourism Business Scheme, as the award suggests, we are committed to conserving the local economy by introducing our guests to genuine experiences and by sourcing all our products locally. We have also been rated as a 3-star campsite by VisitEngland.
