Two awesome safari tents, spaciously set within a 6-acre paddock and surrounded by woodland providing seclusion, amazing views, and plenty of space to enjoy inside and out.
You'll very quickly feel at home at Beara Lodge Glamping Devon - a family run dog-friendly luxury glamping site. Guests have kindly shared their reviews (see our website), portions from a couple being:
“The tent was welcoming and spotless, with lovely touches - books for the kids, hot water bottles for all, fluffy towels and milk and local cakes to eat. This is a lovely spot and one we hope to return to.", and
“A lot of thought and time/effort has gone in to making this a real clamping experience. Highly recommended."
We’re located equidistant from the northern edge of Dartmoor and the beautiful North Devon coastline so a perfect base for a holiday with variety.
You'll have the luxuries of home in a tent! Comfortable beds, full bathroom (with amazing hot shower!), dining area, kitchen with fridge and induction hob and to cap it all off a lovely lounge area with a large leather sofa. Then you have your private outside raised decking and patio area to be at one with nature.
Each tent provides plenty of space - being 9m x 5.4m in size with an elevated position and sleeps up to 6 adults with space for your canine friends. There are two tents on the site, which can be rented separately or together.
In good weather, you can open the entire front and blend inside with outside with an amazing perspective of the Devon countryside.
Sleeping arrangements include 3 separate bedrooms all with comfortable, spacious beds and fresh linen provided. Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, Bedroom 2 comprises 2 single beds and Bedroom 3 a full-size bunk bed.
The two single beds can be joined together if required. Just let us know if you'd like this option when booking.
There are two wardrobes adjacent providing plentiful storage.
No need to go outside to use the toilet or bathroom. There's a fully fitted bathroom inside the tent. This includes water flush toilet, sink unit with hot&cold running water and a luxury shower - which our guests tell us is amazing!
There's also a large mirror with light over containing a 110v/230v shaver socket.
The kitchen area contains an induction hob, sink, and fridge. Pots/pans/kettle are provided together with the cutlery and glassware you'll need - including for the large BBQ outside (and associated cleaning and drying facilities :-)).
This is where you will find your welcome pack waiting for you on arrival to sample the local produce and recharge!
There's ample space on the large leather sofa and comfy bean bags to play games, read books (plenty of both provided for you) and share stories and experiences on the days' events - whatever the weather.
Note: We've set the glamping up to be as much 'off-grid' as possible whilst still providing a luxury experience. Most electrics are 12v in the tent, with the only mains power outlet being a 110V/240V 2-pin shaving socket in the bathroom. There are 4 USB charging outlets for phones, tablets, and accessories.
There's something special about a real log burning fire. As well as keeping the temperature up, watching the flames can help you relax and unwind from the pressures of life...
The private patio area, complete with BBQ provides yet further space to relax and unwind whilst the chef creates marvellous meals on the BBQ! For later in the evening there's a fire pit to enjoy 'campfire TV', burning wood that you're free to collect yourself from the surrounding woodland.
Surrounding the tranquil 6-acre field in which the safari tents are situated is 4 acres of deciduous woodland to explore. Plenty of wildlife to spot and bring your sketchbooks to draw pictures of the amazing views, trees, flowers, wildlife, parents(!) - whatever takes your fancy.
Many local attractions are available within several miles of Beara Lodge Glamping, such as an archery centre, multiple fishing centres, swimming pool, riding lessons and multiple pubs providing excellent atmosphere and dining. These are in addition to the other well-known attractions and the beautiful areas of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Bodmin Moor and north and south coasts.
Linked to the green tourism network (such as the Ruby Way, Tarka Trail, Pegasus Trail, Forestry Commission Land) there are many excellent local walks - we’ve already documented 20 on our doorstep catering for differing abilities (many taking in the local hostelries!). There are also plenty of dog-friendly locations nearby.
We're very happy to provide recommendations when you arrive, or beforehand.
