If you are looking to hold the wedding of your dreams in your very own country Castle look no further. Pentillie Castle is a grand private home set in a magical location on the banks of the River Tamar on the Devon/Cornwall border, boasting extensive mature gardens, over 300 years of history and dreamy views across the River Tamar and is exclusively yours for your wedding day. It is a truly inspirational place to celebrate your wedding whatever the season. There is no prescribed formula to weddings at Pentillie Castle, allowing you the freedom and flexibility to plan the wedding of your dreams. We provide a spectacular setting and our incredible team will be by your side every step of the way focusing their attention on you and your special day.
Just your guests in the Castle, no intrusions and our dedicated team on hand. The Castle becomes your home for the duration of your stay. Whether you stay for a weekend or just one night, you are set to have a wedding like no other.
Are you looking for somewhere that means you can incorporate your personalities into your special day? Exclusive use of Pentillie Castle and the immediate gardens allows you the space and freedom to do just that. Arrive by helicopter or boat? Play croquet or giant jenga? Decorate with feathers or flowers? Dance barefoot to a steel band or in stilettos to a silent disco ~ the choice is yours!
You can also choose where to get married ~ from the Castle dining room to the romantic Victorian Bathing Hut on the banks of the Tamar river, or when the sun is shining, choose an outdoor ceremony under the Loggia or the wisteria-covered Pavilion.
Pentillie’s in house chef is constantly inspired by the local produce in the Tamar Valley and the changing seasons and takes great pride in serving delicious and beautifully presented food. We have a selection of sample menus from which you can choose, or if you have a favourite dish, our chef would be delighted to meet with you to discuss your perfect menu.
We can accommodate up to 60 day guests in the Castle including you, ‘the happy couple’ and up to 40 more guests for an evening reception. If you are inviting more than 60 but less than 100 guests to your wedding, you will require a marquee for the day, but your evening reception can still take place in the Castle. If you would like to invite additional guests to your evening reception then you will need to hire a dancefloor and continue to use the marquee for dancing.
Enjoy the very best of our award-winning boutique accommodation. Set in 55 acres of beautiful woodland gardens overlooking the River Tamar, all rooms have breath-taking views, are individually decorated and equipped to exceptionally high standards with a particular emphasis on comfort and relaxation ready for your big day. We have 9 luxurious en-suite double bedrooms and a double attic bedroom with a private bathroom that can accommodate ‘the happy couple’ plus 18 adults and up to 4 children. Our wedding suite ‘Dewhurst’ is an exceptionally luxurious and spacious room, with a 4-poster bed, a separate dressing room and large bathroom. The perfect space for your bridesmaids or groomsmen and all those professionals that will come and add their expertise to making you look your best on your special day!
If you would like to experience Pentillie Castle in its full glory prior to booking your wedding, you are more than welcome to book a B&B stay. If you then go on to book your wedding we will deduct the cost of your night’s B&B stay from your exclusive hire fee.
