Newton Abbot is a historic market town in the South of Devon surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to a large range of shops and is a great base foe anyone who wants to explore both the Dartmoor National Park and a number of lively seaside towns.
If you like shopping Newton Abbot is a great place to visit, there are a number of markets held throughout the week and a historic indoor Pannier Market which is open for people to shop and browse. The town centre is also home to a variety of shops, both independent retailers and high street names. Newton Abbot has been inhabited since the Neolithic times and has a wide and varied history. The Romans particularly had an impact on the town. There is a train station whichc connects it to the rest of the country via the national rail network and getting the train to nearby towns and villages will give you the opportunity to journey along the coast.
