About
Exmouth is one of the oldest seaside towns in Devon and is a great spot for visiting the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Find two miles of sandy beach where you can relax, take a stroll or indulge in some water sports. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes as well as shops and restaurants that can be enjoyed all year around.
Exmouth is the centre for water sports in South Devon. You can try your hand and pretty much any sport that takes you fancy from kite surfing to kayaking and many more. The beach is an ideal spot for a sunny day by the sea side and with its miles of golden sand, is perfect for relaxing or digging sandcastles, or you can take a trip to Sandy Bay, a private beach just along the coast.
The River Exe meets the sea at this little town close to Exeter, making it a great spot for those who love being by the water but are also looking to explore the city. It is a great base for those that love to go on adventures as the Exe Estuary Cycle Trail runs from Exmouth all the way to Dawlish along the banks of the estuary where you can encounter all kinds of wildlife as well as use it as an excuse to visit some of the cafes, shops and coastal towns along the way. You are also in the right place for visiting the South West Coast Path which runs through the town.
There is an indoor market and a range of shops for anyone who wants a bit of retail therapy and the gorgeous Jurassic cliffs for the budding photographers among you. There are plenty of opportunities to sample the amazing fresh local sea food and there are several celebrity chefs operating out of Exmouth offering fine dining to all.
