Dining at The Royal Hotel

About

The Royal Hotel in Bideford is steeped in history and dates back to the 17th century. This is reflected in an atmosphere and character that is quite unique, especially whilst dining. Visitors will love the fantastic Kingsley Room which still has its original pine panelling and magnificent ornate ceiling. Guests and non-residents alike can enjoy the experience of dining in these magical surroundings.

The Royal has a fabulous choice of dining options for you to enjoy, from luxury fine dining in the famous Regency Restaurant to a more relaxing meal in the Regency Suite Bar - which serves a selection of light meals throughout the day.

Whichever cuisine you prefer, you can be sure that it will come with an outstanding drinks menu, including fine wines and delicious cocktails, along with an attentive service. For an unforgettable private dining experience, book the Kingsley Room, brimming with style and elegance. Overall it has to be the best private dining room in the whole of Devon.

The Regency Restaurant

Enjoy elegant dining with a touch of regency sophistication at the beautiful Regency Restaurant, filled with décor and opulence.

Whether you prefer more traditional dishes or are interested in trying something new, there is an extensive and imaginative menu, so you’re sure to find plenty to tempt you.

The hotel's chefs are committed to using locally sourced ingredients from the West Country to create their magical recipes which are bursting with flavour and texture. Through the year, dinner and dance evenings take place, where fine dining is followed by dancing until late into the night.

Non residents are also welcome to enjoy the menus, so advance booking is recommended.

The Regency Suite Bar

Enjoy a more relaxed dining experience in the plush Regency Suite Bar.
It's the perfect place to meet with friends and to sink into one of the luxurious armchairs, taking your pick from a menu of freshly prepared light meals. The comfy surroundings give a warm and cosy air to the room and make it a place you’ll want to simply spend some time.

Pick from a snack, a light lunch, a traditional Devonshire Cream Tea, or use the room to relax and chat to your friends over a drink. This is a great spot to take coffee after a meal in the Regency Restaurant or to relax after your day exploring Bideford.

Private Dining

The Royal Hotel is the perfect spot for your private dinner party, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better private dining venue in Bideford. Whatever type of function you are planning, they create an amazing experience which will dazzle your guests, including personalised menus and tailored drink selections. Choose from an informal buffet to a spectacular banquet.

For smaller get togethers, guests are welcome to use the historic Kingsley Room, a unique venue with 17th century oak panelling and an impressive plasterwork ceiling. Private dining in these elegant surroundings is an experience not to be missed.

For larger parties, the Regency Restaurant is a perfect setting.

With its pretty riverside setting, The Royal Hotel makes a wonderful base from which to explore all the delights of North Devon and with their fine cuisine, you are guaranteed a wonderful dining experience.
