Making the most of your time

Whether your interests lie in beautiful beaches, mysterious moors, cosy pubs, excellent restaurants, busy farmers’ markets, unique one-off boutiques, grand houses, adrenaline sports, coastal walks, museums, sports, sightseeing, or fascinating attractions – Devon has a huge choice of places to visit. Discover famous and historic Clovelly, take pictures of the amazing vista at Plymouth Hoe, or join a Hounds of the Baskervilles tour of Dartmoor – there really is something for everyone!

If you’re in Devon for a few of days and want to make the most of your time here, but don’t want to be tied to an organised events programme, there’s so much you can do – Devon is known as the UK’s most diverse county, after all!

There’s also a huge amount of choice when it comes to catching a bit of theatre or music, or attending an event. Devon’s lucky enough to have very good theatres and events or gig venues in most towns and cities, staging musical, drama or comedy events catering for all tastes and ages.  It’s always worth checking with the venues own box office to see what’s available rather than online if it’s late notice as you never know what may have been returned that day. And if you prefer to relax at the cinema, again you’ll find that they’re dotted all over – from multi-screen complexes to quirky, independent picture houses.

If you find yourself with a few hours spare when you're in Devon in business, don't waste it - check out the rest of the Visit Devon website for ideas on what to do near you. Whether it’s a fascinating historic house that you’d love to explore, a fabulous spa where you can just chill out and relax, or a quaint little café serving delicious Devon cream teas, it can only add to your time in Devon
