About

A small, select development of Self Catering Holiday Cottages in South Devon near Plymouth offering excellent farm accommodation with lovely views of the South Devon coast. Positioned in the South Hams, Traine Farm Holiday Cottages, are just a mile’s walk from Wembury beach where you’ll find a National Trust café to relax and enjoy the views.

Our self-catering Holiday Cottages in Devon are situated in a superb location for South Devon holidays; Dartmoor is a short distance away and the University City of Plymouth with its excellent shops, restaurants and famous Plymouth Theatre Royal is reached within seven miles.

Rede Cottage is a cosy retreat which is an ideal for couples who are seeking a quiet holiday or romantic short break and has all the home comforts you would expect. On entering the cottage there is open plan layout with comfortable lounge and a modern fully fitted kitchen. There is a Double Bedroom and Shower room which are both situated on the ground floor. Going through some French windows you have your own sunny patio area where you can sit, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Devon countryside. The cottage also benefits from lovely sea view making the Rede an ideal summer retreat for a couples. This is a Dog Friendly Holiday Cottage, however due to the surroundings dogs must be well behaved and kept on a lead.

Clowberry has a large open plan kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher. There is a downstairs double bedroom perfect for guests with limited mobility as well as a downstairs wet room with separate shower and bath. Upstairs is a large family room with double bed and two singles.

Cory Cottage is a great place to stay with everything you need for a fabulous family holiday on your doorstep. Cory has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge freezer, oven and microwave. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a spacious double room and a bunk bed room together with a family bathroom. 

Calmady Cottage is a cosy character cottage with flexible accommodation. It’s nearly 25 years since the cows were last milked in the parlour where Calmady Cottage now sits. The cottage hasn’t lost any of it’s character though. It’s a cosy space with flexible accommodation.

Road Directions

From the A38, take the junction named Deep Lane (sign posted for Plympton).  Turn left at the traffic lights.  Follow onto the new road signed posted for Sherford – keep going through the main street of the Sherford New Town through the temporary traffic lights and past the Taylor Whimpey offices. At the end of the development turn left at the traffic lights and left at the next set of traffic lights.  This is Elburton.  Turn right 3rd exit off the roundabout.  Follow this road until the next set of traffic lights. Turn left sign posted Wembury.  Follow this road for a mile and a half past the Co op garage.  You will reach Hollocombe which has houses on the left and fields on the right. 

Turn right onto Train Road before the bus shelter. Continue around the corner. The farm will be found on the left hand side after approximately 600 yards.  We are opposite a bungalow with a layby and there is a white gate with a Traine Farm sign.
