Tor Royal Farm is a family run hill farm within the Dartmoor National Park, you can walk out of the door and be on one of the high points of the moorland.
Built between 1785 and 1793 by Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt to farm Dartmoor for the Prince Regent. Tor Royal later became part of the Royal Stud breeding polo ponies and improving the native Dartmoor pony.
We farm cattle and sheep which can be seen running out on the moorland and in the fields surrounding the farm.
The bed and breakfast rooms at Tor Royal are comfortable en-suite rooms with lots of home comforts, spread over 3 floors we have a downstairs room which is dog friendly with its own outside seating area in an enclosed garden and direct access to the courtyard. As well as 4 other double and twin rooms within the main house we have a Shepherds hut in the garden with its own log fired hot tub to relax in and enjoy the fresh air of the countryside.
We offer a great farmhouse breakfast to set you up for the day, and whilst we are more than happy to cater for dietary preferences bear in mind, we are a livestock farm.
Whilst staying with us why not join Justine and learn about the bees, where if the weather is clement you can look inside a hive and taste some very local honey for breakfast.

From the A38 follow take the Pear Tree junction to Princetown and Two Bridges, when you approach Princetown look out for our brown tourist sign on the left – you will find us at the bottom of the hill on Tor Royal lane.
From Plymouth/Cornwall, take B3212 to Princetown, over moors and when you enter the village we are the first turning right after small roundabout.
Princetown is not renown for public transport, there is a bus from Yelverton which to Tavistock and Plymouth. In the summer there is a small bus which moves around the moorland villages a couple of times a day.
