The Arundell

About

An old coaching inn located on the old A30 on the Devon/Cornwall border, The Arundell is almost an institution, famous amongst  fly fishermen for its wild fly fishing and with foodies for its outstanding restaurant and bar and wonderful atmosphere.  For those who have never been, a visit to The Arundell is a must, whether for a short break to enjoy the delicious local and seasonal food produced by The Arundell chefs or for a fishing, walking or cycling holiday with family or friends.

Our bedrooms have all been refurbished, with a mixture of single, kingsize, twin rooms and suites in the main part of the hotel and another eight dog-friendly twin and kingsize rooms in our coach house.  All 21 rooms in the hotel and coach house have bluetooth Roberts Radios, comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms.  Across the road from the hotel, in a quiet road by the church, the hotel has a further 4 rooms, which are perfect for our business travellers.  Equipped with desks, wi-fi and televisions, the rooms are quiet and spacious and have easy access to the hotel office rooms, which are available for long or short rent.  The Fishing Cottage is part of the main hotel but is self contained two bedrooms with a kitchen and sitting room and is perfect for night fishing and for those who would like a base for exploring the area.

Our restaurant is well known both locally and amongst those who frequently travel to the area and has won many awards.  Our team of chefs are passionate about food and cook only with local, seasonal produce of the highest quality.  Its convenient location, means it is also a welcome stop for those staying, visiting or travelling through the area or stopping to use our 8 Tesla superchargers.

The Arundell Deli is our latest addition and is a café, artisan grocers and vinters available for light bites, grocery shopping and for delicious ready-made food prepared by The Arundell chefs.  Our First Night grocery boxes are a holiday makers delight, designed to provide holiday makers with a delicious easy to cook supper ready prepared in our kitchen and all the ingredients for a wonderful breakfast.  A choice of picnics are available for order and collection both to guests and to non-residents and are a perfect addition to days on the river, walks on Dartmoor or cycling days out.

For those who would like to learn to fly fish, The Arundell is the place to come.  Many of our guests are second, third or even fourth generations of the same family, all of whom have learned to fish at The Arundell.  Our ghillies are experts on our rivers, passionate fishermen, and skilled teachers, who live to fish and to pass on the love of fishing to others.  With all the equipment and tackle available for hire or purchase from our onsite shop, we make fishing available to everyone.

For business travelers, The Arundell has always been a first choice.  Its superb location in the centre of the Devon/Cornwall area, wonderful food offering and the availability of small, medium or large conference rooms, makes it the perfect place to hold regional meetings, conferences or offsites.  We now also have an additional offering of four well equipped offices for short or longer term rent.  The hotel has recently installed ubiquity providing hi-speed seamless wi-fi across the hotel and outdoor areas.

With a large car park, a beautiful garden, and a fabulous restaurant, the hotel is also a perfect place to host a private function, wedding or even corporate event.
