Swallows’ Flight is nestled in one thousand acres of farmland, just over a mile from the coast in rural South Devon. The Victorian farmhouse and large stone courtyard where the owners and their four children live has two entirely self contained holiday properties onsite:
The Granary Barn at Swallows’ Flight
A luxury barn conversion with with it’s own courtyard entrance, making the perfect rural retreat nest for two guests pr a couple with young children. All open plan, it comprises of a very comfy kingsize bed always made up with White Company linens, a window seat to gaze over uninterrupted fields whilst reading a book or magazine, and a Victorian freestanding bath to wallow in at the end of the day. Underfloor heating ensures it is always cosy, as well as a woodturner with logs provided for firelight suppers. We have continuous five star reviews as the barn is so welcoming and private. The kitchen and dining area allows guests to eat in, however nearby are a plethora of amazing eateries. A full guide to these, a map of the South Hams, and a list of all of our favourite nearby beaches can also be found in the barn. The decor is fresh and clean with exposed beams, artwork and many little personal touches to make for a stay which feels like a treat! In the five acres surrounding the barn are seating areas to relax in, as well as an electric hot tub which is private to the barn and accessible for twenty four hours a day.
Vintage Airstream Caravan
Also onsite is a 1958 vintage American Airstream Caravan which is available to rent from Easter to mid October. This has a large 7ft double bed on board, as well as four bunks sleeping children up to 1.4m tall. Also on board is a fully flushing toilet, a galley kitchen with gas hob, microwave/small fan oven, small fridge, and storage cupboards. It comes with an adjacent small barn called the Nest which houses a dining table and sofa area to dine or relax in should the weather be inclement. Also in the courtyard is a barn with shower and washing up area.
