Our three self-catering holiday cottages are located on the Hartland Peninsula. This makes it a great location for walkers, hikers, and cyclists. The peninsula is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is part of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, contains or is near to four Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and is close to Lundy Island, England's only Marine Nature Reserve. This makes it a walkers' paradise. There are plenty of local walks on the Peninsula, taking in a wide range of breath-taking landscapes and views. The South West Coast Path is only a short distance away, enabling fantastic access to this Jurassic coastline.
Cyclists are also welcome at Yapham. We have access to NCN 3 & 27, plus the famous Tarka Trail is nearby. We can advise upon cycle hire, and have a cycle storage area on site.
Yapham makes an ideal location for getting away from it all. We are located on the side of a valley, in five acres of splendid grounds, including an orchard, private woodland, and paddock. The cottages are located at the end of our five hundred metre driveway, from the quiet country lane that connects the main Hartland road to Hartland Point. There is no light pollution, so on a clear night you feel as though you could almost touch the stars! Bird lovers will be delighted too. Each cottage has its own bird feeder, and you will marvel at the sheer number of birds visiting. You might even get to feed some of the pheasants that visit us. Peace and tranquillity are assured to our visitors.
The cottages have Visit Britain’s “Good To Go” and the AA’s “Covid Confident” award, with an enhanced cleaning scheme during changeovers. Some non-essential items have been removed from the cottages in order to reduce “touch surfaces”, but are instead available “upon request”.
Yapham is an ideal base to explore the many attractions of both Devon and Cornwall. In Hartland itself you have Hartland Quay with the Smugglers' Museum, Hartland Point Lighthouse, Hartland Abbey, and Docton Mill. The world-famous village of Clovelly is only a ten-minute drive away. Explore the shops in the Atlantic Village, Bideford, Barnstaple and Bude. If history is your thing, then there is no shortage of places of interest, with museums and heritage trails in Hartland and the nearby towns. For children you have The Big Sheep, Milky Way, Atlantic Village and Funderzone. Exmoor and Dartmoor are both within easy driving distance, as well as other local areas of natural beauty. Why not take the ferry or helicopter ride to Lundy Island? Each cottage contains guides to the many other local attraction and places to eat. You certainly won't be stuck for things to do!

From the M5 motorway, take junction 27 onto the A361 towards Barnstaple.
On the outskirts of Barnstaple, this becomes the A39 Barnstaple to Bude road. Take the A39 towards Bude until you get to Clovelly Cross roundabout. This is about 20 miles.
Go straight ahead at the roundabout and then take the next turning right off the A39 sign posted Hartland. This is the B3248. Go down here for just over one mile and take the next turning on the right signposted Hartland Lighthouse/Point. Passing Hescott Farm on your right and down the hill you will come to a junction with a signpost called Yapham Cross. This is only about half a mile from the B3248. Our driveway is the right turn at this junction, signed as Yapham Farm & Cottages.
Bus Service 319 links Hartland to Bideford and Barnstaple. This is an infrequent service, so your own vehicle is advised.
