Our commitment to your safety during the Covid 19 Pandemic. We fully understand that we now live in a different world, and our customers will want to know that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and hygiene of our cottages.
We have always considered cleanliness to be the most important part of our success. We understand that everyone also has their own subjective opinion about the virus. But we have to take the risk very seriously. Because even the slightest relaxation of our protocols on your part or on our part could lead to the closure of our business, the cancellation of holidays for our future customers and of course, our health. This is a scenario that we will do everything we can to avoid.
As a result, we have changed many of our daily practices and services to minimize the risk of contracting and spreading the coronavirus. All of these rules will be constantly revised and subject to change, in accordance with government advice and “best practices”. These protocols are in place to protect you and us and other guests. We thank you for understanding and your cooperation.
Located just a short walk from the seafront and Sidmouth town centre, Hemphaye is the ideal property for a family holiday on Devon’s east coast.
Set in the Littlecourt complex, the cottage boasts a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, with a number of facilities open to all guests, including an onsite hairdresser for those that fancy a bit of pampering during your stay. The five luxury cottages that can be found at Littlecourt form part of the historic Regency house built in the town for the former Duke and Duchess of St Albans in the 1700s. Each one has been tastefully refurbished to reflect the period of the building and are set within meticulously maintained award-winning gardens. Each cottage is centrally heated and are exceptionally spacious, furnished and decorated to a high standard and has space for one car.
Hemphaye is one of the larger cottages on the site, on the first floor you’ll find a bedroom with twin beds and a large family bathroom, while on the second floor, there are two bedrooms, one a double and one a twin with an ensuite shower room. The cottages have all the duvets, bed linen and towels supplied and cots and high chairs are available on request, perfect for families who want to travel light but still have use of these child friendly items. Guests have full use of the onsite laundry room which is fully equipped as well as their own private kitchen.
Hemphaye’s dining room is set in a beautiful, lantern lit conservatory and a south facing garden is accessed via French doors located in the conservatory, where there is a set of garden furniture which can seat up to six people. Sidmouth is well known for its mild climate, so whatever season you choose to stay with us, you can make plenty of use of the gardens and outside areas for dining alfresco or just sunning yourself. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave and has plenty of space for the whole family to create meals together. The spacious and comfy living room features a 52 inch Smart TV and with free WiFi throughout the property, you can easily catch up on your favourite shows and snuggle up together for film nights. The owners reside onsite and are on hand throughout your stay to advise you when planning your itineraries or for any additional equipment or provisions you might need.
Sidmouth is a delightful town and is the gateway to the beautiful Jurassic Coast, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The coastline allows you to join the South West Coast Path as well as a charming pebble beach which has been popular since Georgian times. The town is home to a number of family friendly attractions making it an ideal location for those travelling with children. Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, the Littlecourt complex is a haven of peace and tranquillity and due to its proximity to Sidmouth, gives you easy access to shops, theatres, cinemas, gardens, sporting facilities, restaurants and pubs, much of which is within walking distance of the cottages.
