Glamping at Whitehill Country Park Paignton

About

If you love the great outdoors and the ambiance of a holiday under canvas - but not the idea of putting up a tent - then a Glamping Pod holiday could be just what you’re looking for! Enjoy all the benefits of sleeping under the stars, whatever the weather, without a tent peg in sight!

These fully insulated wooden eco-pods are designed to keep you warm on chilly nights and cool on hot days. Furnished with a Double-sofa bed, the Orchard pod sleeps two adults, and the slightly larger Woodland pods comfortably sleeps two adults with two additional fold-out mattress - perfect for two small children!

All pods have lockable doors for extra security, lighting, heating, travel kettle and handy plug sockets for charging your tech. The outside deck has a table and chairs where you can enjoy the countryside scenery in style.

Showers, toilets, family bathrooms and washing up facilities can be found just a short distance away.

What do I need to bring? All your camping gear - but leave the tent behind!

Situated in 40 acres of glorious countryside and private woodland, the family-run holiday park offers a wealth of on-site facilities. For all the essentials you could need whilst you are away, the onsite shop stocks a variety of delicious Devon produce, including the local Hunt’s Cider (from just over the road!), plus gas and a range of camping supplies.

The beautiful heated outdoor pool is an ideal spot for soaking in the sunshine. Complete with children’s paddling pool, fun fountain, mini splash pad and a bubbling poolside spa there is something for all the family to enjoy.

For the kids, you will find a great range of activities designed to cater to all ages from tiny tots to teens and everything in between! From Segway Tours to Family Bushcraft sessions - there is something for everyone! (Some activities are available during high season only)

Head to the Rafters to challenge the family to a game of pool, or try your luck on the arcade machines, enjoy an afternoon film, or why not unleash your creative side in the Shire Craft Centre. For younger children, the Den Indoor Soft Play Area is great fun, whatever the weather!

Get outside and explore the park on our nature trails or take a stroll through the parks ancient Bluebell Woods where you will discover a wide range of flowering plants and ferns. If you visit in Spring, don’t miss the spectacular display of native Bluebells.

In the evenings, enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the Hayloft Bar playing host to local musicians or head to the Granary for mix of music, theatre-style shows and family entertainment from the talented hosts.

From the park you can walk or cycle along bridle path and green lanes to explore the nearby village of Stoke Gabriel. This idyllic village on the Dart Estuary is a real gem, with a picturesque Mill Pool and Quay. You will also find charming pubs, cafés, gallery and an orchard. The Village church yard is also home to a Yew tree thought to be 1000 years old. If you fancy a spot of fishing with the children, the Weir is a Crabbing hotspot!

Located just a short drive from the bustling English Riviera, and the historic towns of Totnes and Dartmouth, Whitehill Country Park is also close to many picturesque beaches together with a wealth of award-winning attractions.
