Looking for a quiet holiday in a unique countryside location to spend time with your family? Set in a forest glade on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Forest Glade is ideal for families and couples looking for holidays and short breaks deep in the heart of the Devon countryside.
This is the perfect location for experiencing that quintessential British countryside holiday. Be prepared to explore the forest, swim, play football, build dens, go to the beach, toast marshmallows, have chips for tea, send the kids out for penny sweets and then chill listening to bird song while you drift off to sleep. Generations of the same family have been enjoying holidays here for over 40 years. Come for a short break and just relax, or stay for longer, spend days on the park and get out and explore the local area. The site is surrounded by numerous lanes that have changed very little over the years, which wind their way through the beautiful countryside. Explore and you’ll see why the Blackdown Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Hidden away in a corner of Devon, near the Somerset border, we are just a great place to stay. There’s so much to see within easy reach of the park – Exmoor, Dartmoor, the Jurassic Coast, market towns, the cathedral city of Exeter, family attractions, nature reserves and historic buildings. Forest Glade is the perfect retreat for those that want to leave the tribulations of their lives behind. Leave the car at home and be at one with nature and explore the many walking trails around the site offering incredible views across the Culm Valley towards Exmoor or Dartmoor. Because of its unique position, Forest Glade gives its guests easy access to the whole of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site where there are glorious dramatic coastlines, miles of sandy beaches and heritage attractions.
There’s a whole host of facilities onsite including the free indoor heated pool which is open throughout the season and the sauna which opens out in the pool building. The amenities building has everything you need for a great stay with us, including hot showers, sinks and a laundry room, as well as a family shower room and an accessible room complete with shower, toilet and wash basin. In the camper’s kitchen, you’ll find a microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as veg prep sink, giving you everything you need for a traditional, back to basics camping holiday and a useful facility for those staying in one of the camping pods. A freezer for icepacks is also available for guests to use. Although the nearest town is just 5.5 miles away we do have a shop well-stocked with all those items you forgot to pack and more. You can order pastries for breakfast, pasties for lunch or have a night in and order from our take away menu. Our licensed shop stocks local beers and cider as well as a good selection of wines. And the pick and mix sweets are one of our most popular lines!
We don’t have a club, bar or any entertainment, but we do have some excellent local pubs if the surrounding nature and the abundant wildlife is entertainment enough. There isn’t a dedicated kid’s club on site, but children will love the hours they can spend swimming in the pool or getting back to nature in the play areas, where there is space to play a range of ball sports, as well as the 300 acres of woodland which is free to explore. Family pets are also welcome to join you on your holiday. Because of the rural location, this is the ideal place to escape from the modern world, but should you wish to contact family and friends at home, there is WiFi available throughout the park for a small charge.
Whether you want to camp, glamp, stop over in your camper van or motor home, set up your touring caravan or stay in our self-catering accommodation, Forest Glade is the ideal location.

How to get to Forest Glade with your touring caravan, heavy trailer or large motor home:-
Touring caravans have no direct access from Junction 28 (Cullompton) to Forest Glade, because of a very steep and narrow hill to the west.
If coming from the North on the M5, use Junction 25 (Taunton) and take the A358 towards Yeovil, then join the A303 and go right down to Honiton. When you get through Monkton and reach the start of the dual carriageway take the exit signposted Honiton. Turn right at the top of the slip road, right again at the next T-junction (do not go into Honiton town centre) and follow the signs for Dunkeswell. * On the top of the hill take the left fork, still heading towards Dunkeswell. You will pass the sign for Wolford Chapel on the left, and then go into the 40 mph speed limit for the village. 100 metres further on, at the end of a belt of large pine trees, turn left at Wolford Cross. Travel 1 mile to the next cross roads and turn right. Keep going along that road and after 1.5 miles turn left (you will pass the Gliding Club on your left). Forest Glade is 0.5 miles along on the right hand side, just around the bend past Woodlands Farm.
If arriving from the South or from North Devon, use Junction 29 of the M5, join the A30, travel along the dual carriageway for about 13.5 miles, and come off the Honiton bypass at the second exit, signposted Dorchester. Turn right just off the slip road onto the Dunkeswell road. Then follow the directions above from *
If coming from Dorchester on the A35, turn right at first mini roundabout in Honiton, follow that road round and over the dual carriageway and take the left turn signposted Dunkeswell. Then follow the directions above from *.
How to get to Forest Glade with your car or motor home:-
If coming south on the A303 or from Dorchester on the A35 follow the directions above.
If coming on the M5 motorway come off at Junction 28 and take the A373 towards Honiton. 2.5 miles from the motorway junction is a pub on the right called the Keeper’s Cottage. Turn left just past the pub and follow that road for another 2.5 miles, up a steep hill and into the forest. We are along on the left hand side.
