Map & Directions

Road Directions

The M5 is the main motorway to the South West. This motorway is easily accessible from the M4 and A303.

Exit the M5 at Junction 27 and head towards Tiverton on the A361. After about 26 miles turn right at the roundabout on to the A399 and continue to Combe Martin. Carpenters overlooks the Kiln Car Park and Combe Martin beach and is accessible via Hangman Path.

Public Transport Directions

Combe Martin can be reached from Barnstaple or Ilfracombe on the 301 bus. The bus stops by the beach and it is a 2 minutes walk to Carpenters through the Kiln Car Park.

There is no train station at Ilfracombe but The Tarka Line runs from Exeter to Barnstaple and is one of Britain’s most scenic railways, following the gentle river valleys of the Yeo and Taw for 39 miles.

Exeter is on the GWR (Great Western Railway) line and trains run from London Paddington and London Waterloo.
