When the weather is kind, make the most of Devon’s plentiful great outdoors…

  • Picnicking – Stock up at the local market, find your favourite spot with a view and tuck-in.

  • Take a boat trip – Either take a sailing lesson and steer your own course, or let someone else do the hard work by hopping on a river or sea cruise.

  • RHS Garden RosemoorGet green-fingered – Visit one of the many beautiful gardens in Devon from formal landscaped gardens to wildflower meadows.

  • Eating al fresco – Find a river-side pub or sea view café and enjoy.

  • Get stuck in – There are many opportunities to get involved in country practices whether that be feeding sheep at your holiday cottage or volunteering in local woodland or nature reserves.

  • South Devon CrabCrabbing – Equip yourself with bucket, crabbing string and bait and head to one of the top crabbing spots such as Dartmouth and Lynmouth.

  • Wine and dine – Visit one of the numerous vineyards in Devon to take a tour and sample the wine. Many also have eateries on site.

  • Peak Hill LlamasMeet four-legged locals – Take a safari on Exmoor to spot the red deer or go on a trek with the not-so-native llamas in the county.
