There are areas of Devon associated with particular species such as the grey seals basking in the sun around Lundy Island and the red deer that you may be able to spot on Exmoor.
The marshland, estuaries, forest, moorland and coastlines all offer sightings of creatures in their natural environment and there are organised bird-watching trips, nature trails to follow, rock-pools to discover and some attractions even have bug-hunting events to get stuck into.
