The coast path between Combe Martin and Hunter's Inn is one of the finest anywhere in Devon. It also has some of the steepest gradients and the highest point on the South West Coast path - Great Hangman at 1,043 ft. Stunning views of both Exmoor and the coast can be admired, and on clear days you can even see the Welsh coast with the Breacon Beacons beyond. Between high cliffs, the steep wooded valleys of Sherrycombe and Heddon's Mouth Cleave shelter a variety of birds and red deer.
