The Widecombe Fair is one of the most famous and popular fairs in the country. Once a market for local farmers to sell their surplus stock, it is now a showcase for all that is wonderful about this part of the country.

In 2012 the fair will take place on Tuesday 11th September from 9am until late. It is expected to be as busy and bustling as ever!

Exciting events, including lamb shearing, dog demonstrations, bale tossing/rolling, a downhill race and horse and pony showing will be going on throughout the day. There will also be food and drink stands, market stalls and many other forms of entertainment.

The Widecombe Fair really does offer a great day out for all ages with a wonderful array of activities on display. Don't forget to look out for uncle Tom Cobley on his grey mare!
