If you’re wondering what’s on in Devon for sporting enthusiasts, look no further. Sporting events take place throughout the county, virtually throughout the year, so there’s always something to come and see or, if you’re up to the challenge, you can even come and take part.

May sees cyclists from across the UK heading to Devon for the annual Heart of Dartmoor Cycle Challenge

In June, you can combine your love of music with your love of maritime events at the Plymouth Harbour Weekend , soaking up some jazz and blues while watching the water-bound challenges. Alternatively, check out the Teignmouth Regatta – South Devon’s biggest and most popular sailing event.

August sees spectacular fireworks, displays from the Red Arrows and a carnival atmosphere arrive as part of the Torbay Week and Royal Regatta.

Hit Bideford in September and you’ll see Devon’s finest rowers taking part in the South Coast Challenge 2012

In October, the brave and the bold endure the challenges set by terrain and the elements as part of the Dartmoor Mountain Challenge

You can enjoy a day at the races in November at the Haldon Gold Cup.
